M/I
Café is a fourth Friday Christian entertainment networking hosted in Kansas
City, MO. Everyone from Ministers to Managers, Pastors to Producers,
Artists to Announcers, and the Leaders in Industry to the Shepherds of Ministry
come together to rub elbows, network, and create connections. The relaxed,
elegant, and diverse atmosphere is well seasoned with fine food, fun, and
fellowship. M/I Café works to bridge the gap between the different genres
of Christian music and destroy the
barrier of denomination while providing a
platform to inform the city of events,
concerts, and conferences scheduled each month. M/I Café also offers a
safe, Christian alternative to the world’s typical Friday night festivities.

M/I Cafe 2006 Season Finale
August 25th, 2006
Figlio Tower | On The Plaza
209 West 46th Terr. | Kansas City, MO
The season finale for M/I Café was hosted by Lady Leta Davis and funny-man Phillip Brown. They kept the flow rolling and the spirit high. Abstinence advocator Deacon Cole blazed the mic with smokin’ spoken word. The Gift led us in a spirited session of rock-n-worship. Sister Clyde Dell Howard has a gift that is unique and classy. The electrifying sound of 9th Hour raised the roof off the house. And what can be said about Promise 2 Praise. These three young ladies are truly anointed. They are definitely setting the bar high for a standard of mime ministry. Our Ask-A- Pastor forum was controversial and informative. Thank you to everyone who has attended Ministry/Industry Café this year.

A season can be defined in so many ways. As a noun; a season is referred to as a period of the year characterized by particular conditions, a period of time, or a suitable and fitting time. As a verb, a season is referred to as something that gives relish or a certain character, to mature, ripen or condition.
As we reflect upon the past three years of M/I Café, we never imagined that God would do such a miraculous work in our lives. M/I Café have proved to be a phenomenal blessing to us and to the body of Christ. God’s provision during M/I Café’s longevity has been awesome and each event we witness an extraordinary move of God. As we look back at past seasons we find cherished moments, moments of tribulation, moments of frustration, and moments of pain and pruning. But in those seasons we also experienced moments of joy, moments of peace, moments of victory and true moments of restoration.
As we faced this season, we realized that God had taken M/I Café through every definition of season for HIS own reasons. M/I Café has stood the test of time and each year the M/I Café experience continues to improve, gain more exposure, and bless attendees. Food, fun and fellowship were a few primary benefits provided by the M/I (Ministry/Industry) Café, but God has seasoned M/I Café to provide a platform for Christians to network, minister, and a bridge to connect the gaps of denominational, racial and industry barriers.
As we forge through our third season of M/I Café, we know that many members in the body are forging through seasons of their own. Your season may produce a shower of blessings or your forecast may show a drought. Whatever season you’re in, just let M/I Café be a testimony that any season from God is worth going through. Your season is a process to firmly plant you in God’s soil preparing you with the richness of all he has for you.
Psalms 1:3 And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].
As we execute the third season Finale of M/I Café, we realize that we are leaving this season behind to prosper to the next level. We can’t even imagine what the next season of M/I Café will behold, but if it is anything like what we have already experienced, it will be magnificent. As we leave this season behind, we take with us our family, friends and network of individuals who have shared in the M/I Café experience with us. We thank you for the love and support you have provided to us as we walked through our seasons. We thank God for you and we know HE will richly reward you in your seasons. We know that together through M/I Café and a part we are being seasoned by God for a season of blessings and prosperity. May God richly bless you in all you do.
Sincerely,
M/I Productions

June 30th was M/I Café. It was a great night – different – but great. If you were not there, you might wonder why I say that. As we publicized, we had to change the venue at the last minute. So, this was the first time we had ever held M/I Café in a church. Being outside of the normal liberal ambience of Figlio created a special twist on the event. Nevertheless, God made His regular appearance in that place and shifted the atmosphere.
Victoria Hambick made her ministry/industry debut with a ravishing dramatic interpretation that kept us on the edge of our seats. Jason Watson was great. His rich voice and heart of praise was a tremendous addition. What can be said about Toi Lee? She is definitely the artists to watch. She blessed us with selections from her recent album release. Jireh Dance Ministry brought the house down. These anointed women of God dance with grace, power and conviction. Our emcees for the night were an interesting pair. Deanne Arnold and Black Butterfly kept the energy high and the audience on there feet, thus transforming the café into a Holy Ghost party. This was our first time having an open mic session. It was a fascinating mixture of talent. Truly, one never knew what was to come next. Trust me, you just had to be there.

The Critics Rave...
“I just wanted to let M/I know how truly blessed I was on Friday. It was nice to have a good time in the Lord in that chill type of atmosphere. You don't have to be at Mt. Pleasant Missionary First Baptist Ecclesiastical Church for the Lord to make his presence known. Thanks for providing that place and see you next time.”
- Jeremiah McCluney (Isaac Cates and Ordained)
“I was very impressed with M/I Cafe. I'll be back for sure, even if I'm not playing. The atmosphere was great. The people were nice. I have nothing bad to say about it.”
- Keith Newton (Recording Artist, Musician, Minister of Music)
“The M/I Ministry provided a great night out for the saved and sanctified but still so refreshing I can see a sinner wanting in on all the fun! For those who miss getting dressed up or down and hanging out, this event is a must. You can come as you are, be who you are and still give glory to God and fellowship with other people. The people there treated me with Christlike love and acceptance - so much different than the club days! Biting off Kirk Franklin, I will re- iterate the fun at the M/I event by saying this: "Ain't no party like a Holy Ghost M/I Party cuz a M/I praise party don't stop!"...Sorry, Kirk Franklin...I couldn't resist!”
- Julee Jonez (Radio Announcer)
“M/I Cafe, what can I say? God is in this, God is making a way of engaging with His Holy Spirit. The words of God's people and His praises are being declared through this wonderful ministry. My prayers are with Terrell L, Brandy and everyone who works so diligently to bless the people and the heart of God! My heart is filled with joy because of the beauty of the body of Christ coming together in unity through M/I!”
- Jim Vilandre (Singer, Songwriter, Teacher, Worship Leader)
"Can't wait til next time! It's such a out-of-the-church-box experience. We got our praise on!"
